Post by K. B.Post by Chris K-Man (Zickcermacity)Tonight, both WNET(13) and WLIW(21) had moments where they had a reasonably stable picture, but NO AUDIO.
I live 45 miles north east of Manhattan, if signal strength has anything to DO WITH IT.
The OTA digital TV signals combine the audio and video into one
datastream, it could be problems at the DTV broadcast stations (seems
unlikely) or possibly your TV is muting the audio due to momentary
signal strength drops.
Several years ago, ch 62.1 had audio but 62.2 didn't (only using my
oldest DTV receivers - I emailed the station about it and they fixed the
audio problem in a few days).

The picture was steady for once on those PBS stations. So if audio was the first
to go in their cases, it would be my first time experiencing it.
All I am asking is if it's possible to lose just the sound. I've experienced no picture
before, audio only, momentarily. But not an entire program with no audio. And it
was something I wanted my wife to watch! Grrrr!
480i analog is plenty for me, I don't care what the reasons for or benefits of DTV
might be!
